Set up a Shopify low-stock alert

What the rule does

When stock changes from at or above your threshold to below it, prepare an internal alert. Include the product, variant and remaining quantity. You decide whether to reorder. Repeated events need a separate duplicate check; the browser demo only illustrates the threshold rule.

Use the native option first

Shopify Flow has free workflow templates. Flow is available on Basic and higher listed Shopify plans without an additional app charge. Your shop subscription still costs money. Check whether an existing template already does what you need before buying a kit.

In Flow, choose the inventory quantity change trigger, check the current and previous inventory quantities against your threshold, then add an internal email action. Test on a fictional product, check the run history, and switch the workflow off if the result differs from the expected alert.
