Useful spreadsheet setup
Build a small, understandable spreadsheet for a business task such as job tracking or stock counting. The value is a sheet the owner can operate confidently, with clear inputs and checks, rather than a complicated workbook only its creator understands.

A good fit if…
You can structure data, write and explain formulas, test edge cases and teach a non-specialist to maintain the result.
Think twice if…
Avoid payroll, tax calculation, investment decisions and other high-stakes systems without the relevant expertise. Do not present a simple spreadsheet as a secure multi-user database.
Try a small demand test.
Ask a business to describe one repeated manual task using fictional data. Demonstrate a narrow example and see whether the owner can complete it without your help before discussing a paid build.
Five practical first steps.
- Write the task, inputs, output and people who need access before choosing formulas or tools.
- Build a prototype with fictional records and separate editable cells from calculations.
- Test blanks, duplicates, incorrect dates and unusually large values against written expected results.
- Run a short handover where the owner enters data and recovers from a mistake independently.
- Agree version ownership, backup, support boundaries and how future changes will be requested.
A checklist to work through.
0 of 6 checks complete. Your checks stay on this page only.
Missing-data checklist
What starts it: The owner requests a check of their job sheet.
- Find incomplete required fields
- Group issues by record
- Prepare a correction list without changing source values
You stay in control. Review the flagged records and approve corrections; never infer missing prices or customer instructions.
Possible tools: Google Sheets · Apps Script. Account costs, permissions and platform limits need checking. This is an idea for a workflow; there is no tested download or installation claim for this concept.
